Run|Ride|Wine is a site about travel, wildlife, getting outside and exploring Southern Africa (and beyond). If you’re passionate about nature, conservation, travel and adventure, then you’re in the right place!

2018 was a busy year. Although our wedding was in November 2017, we waited a bit to take our honeymoon and split it into two parts. The first part was in March, when we took a 17-day overland trip through Botswana. The second part was in July and August, when we went to France for the Tour de France, and then to Iceland for a 12-day overland trip around the iconic and mystifying country.

In 2019, I’ll begin a training programme to become a certified Field Guide with the Field Guiding Association of Southern Africa. What does that mean, exactly? It means for 60 days from January to March, I’ll be sleeping in a safari tent near Kruger National Park, learning about wildlife, conservation, and tourism. At the end of this programme (assuming I pass my exams!) I’ll be recognised as a safari/field guide in South Africa. I plan to blog about the experience and hopefully will have some exciting stories to share!
